What A Blast!
Jan 18, 2023
What a great day! Although it started off rocky with terrible Midwest weather outside and really sensitive and anxious attitudes, we were able to pull off a wonderful day. Our not so little clan prepared to celebrate a birthday party in a new place.
Can someone say, "laser tag!!" We have one of the best laser tag arcades in Lake County, Illinois right in our back yard! The kiddos could not get enough of the glow in the dark lights, different place areas and cool sounds. Talk about a sensory OVERLOAD!
If you are looking for something fun to do with the little ones, check out Crazy Laser Tag in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. Their website is crazylasertag.com and they are great for birthdays!
Chalk Everywhere
June 26, 2022
It's always a party when we include CHALK! This was a very fun day for our little artist. Instead of the smaller chalk pieces we use to draw on the sidewalk and driveway, we broke out big guns! These chalk crayons were so big, the kiddos thought they belonged to giants. I love them because they lasted longer than just one use.
Each child picked their favorite colors and designed so many beautiful pieces of art. They were having so much fun that their art-driven Father couldn't help but join them. Usually the chalk play only last about an hour because the children are ready to do something else. I was very surprised that they enjoyed drawing for almost 4 hours! With ice cycle breaks of course. If you are interested in trying these for your little artist, try these https://amzn.to/3MousSW they are some of my favorite because they are also non-toxic!
Learning to Swin
November 16, 2021
Swimming can be a fun activity, but not when you are first learning. This was definitely a good/bad day. With one parent loves to swim and the other that wouldn't swim even if you paid them, it was horrendous. I'm laughing now.
Just remember, a child has to build trust with the educator before they are introduced to water...
